Officials with the Battleship North Carolina Memorial are implementing safety measures to help visitors stay cool.

According to a press release, staff will install cooling breezer stations, hydration access points, and a shipboard cooling station.

“Forecasted Heat Index values nearing 113°F and ongoing heat advisories underscore the importance of planning and preparedness," officials stated.

The cooling breezer stations are cooling tents that will have breezers underneath. Hydration access points are vending machines stocked with cold water and beverages. These points are located aboard the ship and inside the air-conditioned visitor center.

The shipboard cooling station is the air-conditioned Ward Room.
