Carrboro man facing sex crimes charges against minor

Carrboro Police have announced the arrest of a man on sex crime charges against a minor.

Luis Aurelio Bonilla-Lucero, 37, of Carrboro, was arrested on Wednesday for a sexual assault that happened in June of 2019. He was charged with three counts of statutory sex offense against a person who is 13, 14 or 15. His bond was set at $750,000, and he was held in the Orange County Jail.
