All westbound lanes on Knightdale Boulevard were closed Wednesday between Smithfield Road and McKnight Drive due to a cement truck spill.
The lanes were closed before 8 a.m. An estimated reopening was not announced.

At 8:30 a.m., Sky 5 video showed construction trucks at the scene working to clear the spilled cement from the westbound lanes. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes and avoid the area until crews are able to clear the mess.

As a detour, westbound drivers can use Old Knight Road to Forestville Road to Old Milburnie Road.
