A Durham man was arrested early Friday in connection with a shooting in Carrboro a week ago that killed one man and wounded his brother, police said.

Steven Sutton, 31, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was being held without bond in the Orange County jail.

Brothers Jeremiah Williams and James Grace were shot last Friday when someone burst into 810 Old Fayetteville Road and opened fire, witnesses said.

Williams was killed, and Grace was wounded.

Carrboro police said the brothers were targeted.

The shooting was Carrboro's first homicide since 2015.
