A second person has been charged in connection with a shooting that killed one man and wounded his brother earlier this month in Carrboro.

Jewell Pridgeon, 28, of Durham, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and one count of accessory after the fact to attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Pridgeon was being held at the Orange County Jail under $500,000 bond.

Brothers Jeremiah Williams and James Grace were shot Nov. 1 when someone burst into 810 Old Fayetteville Road and opened fire, witnesses said.

Williams was killed, and Grace was wounded.

Carrboro police said the brothers were targeted.

Steven Sutton, 31, was arrested earlier this month in connection with the shooting and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The shooting was Carrboro's first homicide since 2015.
