Fayetteville school increases security after social media threat

A Fayetteville middle school has increased security Thursday after a threat was posted on social media Wednesday night, a district official said.

Lindsay Whitley, a spokesman for the district, said law enforcement was notified about the threat against Max Abbott Middle School.

Additional security officers will be on campus Thursday, he said.
