Landfill fire burns near I-540 and Capital Boulevard

A large fire has caught the attention of drivers on I-540.

The fire is burning in a landfill at Wall Recycling, near I-540 and Capital Boulevard.

There have been large fires similar to that one there before - for controlled burns.

WRAL News reached out to fire officials and the landfill business owners to comment.
