Lumberton police arrest 26-year-old for North Elm Street shooting

Lumberton police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with a shooting that happened on Monday.

The incident took place at 11:48 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Elm Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

EMS provided initial treatment before taking the victim to a medical facility.

The severity of his injuries is currently unknown.

After a brief search of the area, the suspect, identified as John Ethan Hendren, was apprehended without incident.

Hendren is now being held at the Robeson County Detention Center.
