Man found dead in road after hit-and-run in Wilson

A man was found dead in the road after a hit-and-run Sunday morning in Wilson.

Sunday at 5:41 a.m., officers with the Wilson Police Department responded to the 1800 block of U.S. Highway 301 regarding a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived and found Justin Lane Davis, 38, of Wilson, lying in the roadway after being hit by an unknown vehicle. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
