Motorcycle rider airlifted to hospital after head-on crash on NC 690 in Moore County

According to the State Highway Patrol, a car was attempting to turn onto McGill Road when the driver collided with a motorcycle. The man who was riding the motorcycle was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.

A motorcycle rider was airlifted to the hospital after a head-on crash Sunday night on N.C. Highway 690.

Just before 11 p.m., a car and a motorcycle crashed head-on near McGill Road and Lobelia Road.

According to the State Highway Patrol (SHP), a car was attempting to turn onto McGill Road when the driver collided with a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction. The man who was riding the motorcycle was airlifted to a trauma center with serious injuries, authorities said.

The Moore County Sheriff's Office, Moore County EMS, Crains Creek Fire & Rescue and SHP responded to the crash.

The SHP is investigating the crash.
