A 15-year-old was struck in front of Apex High School on Tuesday.
Before 7 a.m., the teenager was struck by a truck operated by a 17-year-old at 1501 Laura Duncan Road, in a crosswalk in front of the school, Apex police said. Both the driver and the victim were female. Police did not confirm that they were students.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. An update on her condition was not provided.
A caller to WRAL News said traffic in front of the school was backed up.
The crash is being investigated.
Previous pedestrian crashes in the area
In October 2017, Joy Williams, a 10-year-old student at Laurel Park Elementary School, was struck by a car while crossing Laura Duncan Road. She was not seriously hurt, but following the crash, her parents requested the town add a crosswalk.
Also in October 2017, a 15-year-old Apex Friendship High School student was hit while in a crosswalk on Humie Olive Road at Evans Road. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Robert Brantley, of Apex, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, police said.
