East Carolina University police learned of a second-degree forcible rape on Wednesday morning, making for the third rape case this month.
The rape happened in Jones Hall on Oct. 8 between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., according to police.

Police said the victim and suspect know each other. The crime is listed as an open investigation.
There have been three reported rapes at campus dorms in October.

Last semester, there were two rapes reported at Jones Hall, one in January and the other in February.
