Intense storms are making a mess for North Carolinians on Friday, with tornado warnings and lightning strikes putting a damper on the end of the week.
Friday was a WRAL Weather Alert Day for the chance of strong storms and flooding. The lightning from the storms was so intense that it caused a delay of the Jordan Davis concert at Red Hat Amphitheater.

The rain and storms, however, did not wash out the excitement for people who went.
"You never know what the weather's going to be like, and the rain hurt anybody," said Victoria Williams, who went to the Jordan Davis concert.
The lightning was also a problem earlier in the day in the county as well. After a round of storms moved through a Raleigh neighborhood, lightning struck a home on Wyatt Brook Way. The home then caught on fire.
The storms were a problem for most of the afternoon and early evening around central North Carolina. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for parts of Moore, Randolph, Montgomery and Chatham counties, which expired around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Hundreds of people in Wake County lost power as the storms moved through. According to Duke Energy's outage map, more than 3,000 people were without power at the peak of the storms. In Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, more than 20,000 people lost power.
