Wake and Durham County deputies are searching for one man and took another into custody after a crash following a multi-county chase on Wednesday morning.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office did not release the name of the man taken into custody or released information about possible charges he faces as of Wednesday afternoon.

Wake County deputies tried to pull over a vehicle just after 6 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 540 East near Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh. The vehicle did not have a license plate displayed, according to authorities. When the driver did not stop, authorities chased the vehicle to US-70. 

The chase ended when the vehicle crashed in a ditch near Sherron Road in Durham. The driver and one passenger ran from the scene. A second passenger stayed at the car. 

Investigators are searching the area for one man. Authorities took one person from the incident to the hospital.

Authorities have not released information or provided a description for the man still on the run.

Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity to 911. Anyone with information that would assist in the investigation is asked to call the Wake County Sheriff's Office at 919-856-6911.

WRAL News reported two other chases on Wednesday. 

In Durham, a chase ended in a neighborhood off of Danube Lane with two suspects being taken into custody. In Knightdale, Sky 5 flew near Spectrum Drive and spotted a man being apprehended around 12:35 p.m. A man in handcuffs was seen receiving medical attention.
