One man is in custody after a police chase in Nashville, North Carolina Monday night. 

According to the Nashville Police Department, officers were involved in a chase before 29-year-old Quenton Stefan Gibbs crashed near U.S. 64 Alternate and Corbett Road.

According to the arrest warrant, officers tried to stop Gibbs after he was speeding 15 miles above the legal speed limit and discovered he had an expired registration.

Officers said Gibbs was taken to the hospital to be evaluated, and has not yet been brought before a magistrate. 

Gibbs faces felony charges of fleeing to elude arrest, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances. 

He also faces charges of driving with a revoked license and an expired registration, possession of drug paraphernalia, seatbelt violation and careless, reckless driving. 

Gibbs is also on post-release probation for robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

No officers were injured.
