People across Johnston County are cleaning up storm damage after Saturday's severe weather left more than 5,000 people without power, took down trees and power lines and sent one person to the hospital after a tree fell onto their car.
According to authorities, a large tree fell onto a driver's windshield as they were driving on Buffalo Road. The driver was taken to the hospital, but the severity of their injuries is unknown.

Saturday and Sunday are both WRAL Weather Alert Days due to the threat of strong storms and damaging wind gusts throughout the day. There is a medium flood risk Sunday.
Also in Johnston County on Saturday, a large work truck hydroplaned on Covered Bridge Road before hitting a power pole in front of a Duke Energy substation.
WRAL News spoke to a homeowner down the street from the crash who had two oak trees fall.
"He heard a loud crack and a boom, and we realized we had a tree down in our yard," the homeowner said.
People said the powerful storm was gone within 15-20 minutes after it rolled in.
According to Duke Energy, outages in the Archers Lodge area of Johnston County were caused from a combination of downed trees and the truck that hit the power pole
Duke Energy added that the majority of the outages on Saturday were tied to downed trees and lightning caused by the storms as it slowly moved through central North Carolina.
Across the Carolinas, more than 20,000 customers lost power during the storms.
