WRAL News has obtained a search warrant issued after an off-duty deputy was shot and killed during a dispute with another off-duty law enforcement officer.
The warrant said that the shooting followed a confrontation over Nekime Oxendine's truck being outside Tara Whitman's home in Hope Mills.

On Friday, March 27, deputies were called to reports of a shooting at a home on Seattle Slew Lane.
According to the warrant, when deputies arrived, they found Whitman performing CPR on a man who had been shot. The man was later identified as Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Capt. Adam Bean.
Deputies said Bean was lying in the front yard with blood along his chest and left arm. A handgun was also seen in the front yard, deputies said in the warrant.
Whitman told deputies that Bean arrived at the home and was upset that Oxendine’s truck was parked outside her home. Oxendine’s truck was parked in the driveway of Whitman’s home, the warrant said. Bean’s pick-up truck was parked in the street in front of the home. Investigators also noted several vehicles parked in the driveway and along the street.
Deputies said Whitman told them Oxendine walked out of the home with a gun and shot one round into the dirt before firing several times and hitting Bean.
The NCSHP confirmed Oxendine was a member of the patrol and was placed on administrative leave, effective March 28, the day after the shooting. No charges have been filed in this case.
Investigators have seized electronic devices belonging to Bean, Whitman and Oxendine.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) is conducting a full investigation, including processing the crime scene at the home.
