Nashville director of human resources Matt Joyner has been terminated.
Joyner said he has 10 days to file an appeal, and then a third-party arbitrator would come in and review that appeal before making a recommendation to the town. Joyner says he will file an appeal and is seeking legal counsel.

Joyner was terminated on Friday. Joyner said that he did not get formal notice of why.
"I know the reason but can't discuss it," Joyner told WRAL News.
Joyner and Police Chief John Winstead were placed on suspension with pay Sept. 27 after Joyner said he made a claim against Winstead and Winstead made a retaliatory claim against him.
Winstead is still suspended indefinitely and under investigation. Town manager Randy Lansing said he's not allowed to talk about the why for the suspension or firing because of personnel laws.
Lansing said he didn't have a timeline for how long the police chief could be suspended. Meanwhile, the town has already listed Joyner's former position opening, so he doesn't feel like he's going to get a fair shake in this process.
“I just think it’s crazy that they posted my job today, and the whole process hasn’t been completed yet,” Joyner said.
Lansing said his attorney had advised him not to comment on Winstead's process until it was completed.
